The KE905 enables mode selectable switching, insertion of loops, connection to a measurement device on the far end of line, connection through another exchange or even switching to a second access line. Developed for Communication Services such as ADSL2+ and VDSL2 the device has small impact on measurements through 31MHz on the far end. Remote-Controlled switching functions up to a distance of 20km are possible without influence on other services in the loop. The remote commands are modified DTMF-Signals to ensure robust communication even on noisy pairs. Successful switching actions of the KE905 are confirmed to the user of the Compatible Line Tester with visual confirmations on screen.
For active tests like crosstalk, balance, spectrum-analysis etc.the loop can be cleared or switched to another measurement device on the far end. In addition there can also be another Telephony / xDSL Port attached. This second local loop can be switched to one or another access line so it is possible to measure the interference (NEXT).
The KE905 Remote Unit is the perfect assistant for one-man testing and troubleshooting on copper subscriber lines. The Remote Unit can open, short, switch or ground leads under the control of a KE3550/KE3700 xDSL-Tester with built-in copper testing KECT interface or with the KE2500 Telco Multimeter. With KE905 there is no assistance required at the CO and driving costs will be reduced.
