The KE7000 can test and verify unshielded and shielded connection cables with twisted pairs (UTP and STP cables) in installed networks or patch cables. BNC and F-socket coaxial cables can be tested for continuity using the optional RJ45 coax adapter.
One device is automatically configured as master and one as slave. The advantage of using two main devices is that the status of the tests can be read at both ends which leads to a real time saving.
Faults such as crossed wires, opens, short circuits and screen errors are shown on the displays. It is not necessary to take notes of blinking and flashing LEDs. The KE7000 provide clear, fast and immediately available status information on both ends on the LCD displays for cable lengths up to approx. 150 m.
The KE7000 reserves a particular display to indicate that it has been connected to an active network port. This is an easy mistake to make and one not very well handled by cheaper LED based testers.
If an external voltage is applied to the cables to be tested, the KE7000 warn the user and indicate which polarity is connected to which pins. The devices are protected against overvoltage up to 60V.
With a battery life of up to 100 hours, measuring rarely needs to be interrupted.
The KE7000 are cost-effective test devices for patch, LAN and telecommunication cabling and, with an optional adapter, can also address coaxial cables.
