Equipped with only the KE7100 LANcheck the user is quickly able to run a single ended check that will determine cable length and identify any split pairs (beyond 6ft or 2 metres). Plug the companion KE7010 Remote Unit in to the opposite end of the link and the full range of wire tests are automatically available. Length measurement accuracy improves so over-length cables are easily identified up to 150m. The actual mapping of the conductors within the cable is clearly displayed graphically with multiple errors being able to be shown simultaneously without confusion. Now the user can seef how wires are connected to PIN and Pair. The tester measures all wires separately and shows distance to fault short/open in order to speed troubleshooting. To speed preparation the product has 16 dedicated wiring schemes predefined, and 16 cable types with predefined VP values available to select. User on the device
Testing with the product quickly exercises activation of PoE/PoE+/PoE++ port and measures actual voltage and current limits under varying load conditions to determine and show the actual available power in watts. This is all carried out in compliance with the IEEE802.3af/at standards.
Selecting the Hub-Link Blink function will cause the tester to attempt to activate the network port it is connected to. This will obviously only work if it is connected to an active network device and when successful a connection confirmation message is displayed indicating the connected speed for the port. A blinking port lamp will show clearly the port on the active device being tested. When there is no connection possible and hence no active equipment connected test tones can then be sent down all wire pairs in one of four fixed or warble tones to be scanned for and detected by capacitive Probe (optional)
The KE7100 LANcheck is an easy to use, handy and cost-effective LAN Tester. The little brother of the KE7200 Ethernet Performance Tester, it is ideal for measurements in networks where documentation is not required or necessary. The KE7100 tests the wires and wire pairs of the cable for continuity, open, short, crosses and split pairs while simultaneously determining cable length and distance to the fault for short circuit and interruption testing. With the internal user-configurable cable database, unknown cable and wiring schemes are a thing of the past. Up to 32 individual remote units can be managed from the KE7100 simultaneously. The tester also checks connections and the availability of Power over Ethernet (PoE and PoE +) and determines the available power. Identifying data ports with the port finder function activates the link-LED on the switch and the integrated trace tone signal enables use of the optional PROBE310 for cable tracing. The KE710x sets are the perfect help for installations and troubleshooting in telephone and data networks.
