CommView is a powerful Windows and Windows Server network monitor and analyser, for Ethernet and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac networks. Delivering performance and flexibility, CommView provides an easy to use solution for those looking for a cost-effective VoIP monitoring solution.

 

The VoIP analysis module is able to capture and analyse in real-time VoIP signalling events such as registrations and call signalling as well as media streams (RTP). CommView supports both SIP and H.323 signalling, call quality measurements using MOS & R-Factor scores, and is also able to replay captured RTP ideal for troubleshooting voice quality issues.

 

The Wireless version of CommView provides users with the ability to capture and analyse VoWLAN traffic helping debug and troubleshoot wireless voice problems which otherwise remain invisible. Using the built in WiFi NIC card or a low cost USB WiFi adapter CommView offers VoWLAN at a price far below alternative solutions.

 

 

Advanced Protocol Decoding Capability

 

With over 70 supported protocols, CommView provides the ability to view every captured packet showing both protocol layers and packet headers. It is also possible through the use of an open interface, to plug-in custom decoding modules.

 

Packets captured over the wireless interface can be decrypted utilising user-defined WEP or WPA-PSK keys and then decoded using the powerful decode capability.

 

 

 

 

Powerful VoIP Monitoring Features

 

As well as supporting SIP and H.323 VoIP signalling, call quality measurements using MOS & R-Factor scores, CommView is able to replay captured RTP streams using a number of different voice codecs. As important as voice quality metrics (MOS & R-Factor) are, often a subjective test listening to actual voice conversations provides a better indication to the perceived voice quality users are experiencing.

 

By using CommViews' RTP playback capability it is possible to troubleshoot VoIP media problems helping to identify for example the interaction of 802.11 WiFi protocol events such a re-transmits to underlying voice quality. CommView also provides an adjustable synthetic Jitter buffer capability during playback allowing users to experience the effect that different jitter buffers sizes may have on voice quality.

 

 

Extensive Platform Support

 

CommView runs on Windows XP / Vista/ 7 / 8 /10  or Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 (both 32- and 64-bit versions) and requires a compatible wireless network adapter. It is also possible to run CommView on Apple Mac using a windows virtualised OS.
