Analysis and Generation

 

Powerful traffic generation capabilities allow users to generate traffic with deterministic and random bandwidth profiles. The traffic generation feature can be used to stress the network, simulate user traffic and measure critical network performance parameters such as bit errors, packet loss or latency.

 

Ether.Giga has eight independent full featured traffic generators attached to the main test port. Each traffic flow can be configured with specific encapsulation and addressing parameters thus providing

great versatility in all applications requiring Ethernet and IP traffic generation.

 

Analysis is provided through graphical report screens providing users the ability to quickly interpret test results and identify any issues. Powerful filtering allows you to focus on streams of interest ensuring that you only see the test results that you need.

 

 

ITU-T Y.1564 e-SAM test

 

This new methodology for Ethernet executes multiple traffic streams completing the test in two phases:

 

Service Configuration, confirms the end-to-end set-up while quickly checking the Information Rate (IR), Frame Delay Variation (FDV), Frame Loss Ratio (FLR), Frame Loss Ratio at the Service Acceptance Criteria (FLRSAC).

 

Service Performance, transmits all configured traffic streams at the CIR confirming all traffic is able to transverse the network under full load while checking IR, FDV, FLR and availability.

 

 

Remote Control & Automation

 

Full remote control of Ether.Giga is possible through any VNC based client. Password controlled access enables users to configure, execute tests and display test results. Using the management port users can control Ether.Giga from any location using a PC, iPhone or iPad.

 

Ether.Giga also has a built in web-server providing a remote file transfer capability for test results and test profiles.

 

For those wanting to automate their Ethernet performance testing Ether.Giga has an SNMP capability allowing it to be integrated into an automation environment.  With full SNMP capability users can configure, run tests and extract results from Ether.Giga all under program control.
